DRES_
We are a band from Houston, Texas. We were brought together and built upon a foundation of “good vibes,” and “individuality.” No two of us are the same. Where we come together is the mutual understanding of each other’s differences and our undying passion for music. Our music is like an adventure; a story; a chronicle of our experiences and emotions put into melody and rhythm for all to relate and/or sympathize with; in hopes of sparking a flame in another’s heart. We are not “genre’d” to one genre and are willing to experiment with all sounds and types of music. We are Dres_. We are an experience.

Recording Process
Getting to record this project has been a blessing. We’ve held onto this collection of songs for so long, we’re ecstatic to finally see it take flight and reach a broader audience than just our local fans. It was a struggle finding the right producer to produce this product because we wanted it done right. After meeting Niko at Nitpick Productions, we were blown away and beyond excited we finally have the opportunity to make this possible. We love Nitpick Productions for helping us
reach new heights of our dream and are forever grateful.
“Recording with Dres_ was great. They’re all really goofy, it was like recording with a band full of
my little brothers. I normally produce one type of music that’s slightly different than this, so they
challenged me to work outside my comfort zone and try new things. I’m happy I got to be a part of that.” - Niko Zorich,Producer at Nitpick Productions.
“Working with Dres_ has been a genuine pleasure. They’re professional, caring, creative individuals. This EP is something I listen to on the daily. The music is unique but accessible to
all listeners.” - Ashley Dawson, Artist Management at Nitpick Productions.
About LYSNE
LYSNE (pronounced “LISTEN”) is an acronym for “Last Year’s Summer Never Ended.” It was created straight out of high school. Not knowing what the future holds or where to go after your last year of grade school. Summer “ended,” and all our friends were off to college. Summer didn’t end for us though. We didn’t go to college. It’s not what we wanted to do. Instead, we formed a band and chased our dream in music. Upon us first meeting, this was the theme for
not just one of us. All of us. The songs on this EP all just came to us. It usually started with someone’s idea of a riff, or lyrics and we built from there almost naturally. The chemistry was insanely strong in each of these songs makings. We feel that we did a good job capturing the essence of summer into a soundtrack that makes summer feel like it lasts forever. We’ve
partied, fallen in love, we even regret some decisions, but we’d do it all over again if given the opportunity because part of what makes us human is simply just our feelings themselves. It’s a part of life.

By way of a diversion in 2014/15 I made a more beat driven 3 track dance EP called Sparkle having just got Arturia's midi drum machine I just could'nt resist a go at EDM, Trance tunes. Back to 2015, I started to put together the 3rd part of my musical journey called New Age Voyager which has taken me from lying on a beach threading shells to travelling through the cosmos as an astral voyager to exploring the music of Africa , Asia, India, Japan and China with a bit of Celtic influence thrown in. To round off 2015 I was asked to put a compilation album together for the Californian website Music2Meditate,the result is Celestial Tranquility which has 8 tracks of calming relaxation music taken from my previous works.
In 2016 I decided to concentrate on a number of single releases as well as invest in some new equipment and software. 2017 was a busy year with two albums,Survival and Melas Dreams as well as four new singles. 2018 saw the release of the Reflections album along with a superb charity album I contributed to called New Age Music Planet.

Having been a huge fan of synthesizers and electronic music for as long as I can remember as well as seeing and listening to the pioneers such as Jean Michel-Jarre, Vangelis, Tangerine Dream,Tomita and the prog rock keyboard virtuoso's Rick Wakeman, Keith Emerson, Richard Wright, Tony Banks and many more. In 2013 I decided to learn as much as possible about analogue synths and sound design as my ageing brain would permit.
Having taken early retirement I bought a new Apple iMac and started to find my way round Logic Pro 9 and slowly started building up my studio and attempting to recreate a couple of Jarre's classics such as Oxygene IV and Rendezvous IV, which you can find on my YouTube link.
My first tentative steps into composing my own pieces came with my Threading Shells project which is an ambient collection of tunes inspired by the beach and ocean. Learning as I went along my next project, Astral Voyager, was a bit more adventurous in it's soundscapes and influenced a lot by Jarre and Edgar Froesse from TD. By now I was getting more confident with the whole creative process as well as the technical aspects of production.

Channel 69
Channel 69
Channel Channel 69’s first synthpop single “Exposure” premiered on 94.5 KDGE and hit #1 in most requested plays in Dallas. In
Houston, despite being an electronic band in an industry dominated by Grunge, their second single “Promise is Breaking” hit
#3 along side such artists as Nirvana, Pearl Jam and U2. Channel 69 has also been featured on many compilations such as "Tales
From The Edge" Vol 7&8, “San Francisco Rave Explosion”, “The CatCompliation” and has appeared on the Playboy Channel‘s
“Playboys Passion Files” and “Girls of Hooters” with their music video for “Words (Go Away)”.
While still remaining true to their roots, Channel 69 has expanded their electronic sound with their new single
“Another Gotcha” to include gritty guitars along with a heavy beat. The track pays homage to the rise and eventual fall of a any
type of toxic relationship where in the beginning everything seems perfect, but as the relationship evolves neither party has the
power to end it despite wanting out.
Sasha Raven
Singer/Songwriter/Poet
I was a very quiet child and very an introverted person. My passion was music and it’s still. My mother was a classical guitarist, but I didn’t show any interest in learning or playing guitar. I have started learning to play guitar when I was almost twenty years old. My friend convinced me into that, he showed me four chords and that was it.
Sasha Raven
With that four chords, I composed my first song. I was impressed by that and until today, I have composed over four hundred songs. Some of my songs can be heard on music social platform Soundcloud, Spotify, Deezer, Amazon, iTunes and so on, but a very few on YouTube. In the year 2005, me and my friend, created the band Dharma. My friend met those days Paul Godfrey from worldwide band Morcheeba. My friend first didn’t know who is he (Paul Godfrey) or who is Morcheeba. Paul gave him a business card and he showed me that card. I was excited and I said to my friend whom he met. A coincidence was that my friend met Paul Godfrey again the other day. And he showed to the Paul our song Winter’s Day (a.k.a. Afterglow). Guess Paul liked that song, so he wrote the lyrics for Afterglow.
Sasha Raven
But Dharma didn’t last long, because of different music taste in the band. So we simply split the band. I went on my solo music career. I have released the songs like Kiss Me, Moonrise, Indian Summer. Besides music I write also poetry. I post it on sites like AllPoetry, Steemit, Trybe, Hello Poetry. I have also released two poetry books and four e-books via Lulu.
Sasha Raven
Poems are about social problems, love, pain, sadness, sorrow, death and also about the crypto world… I wrote also a fairy tale for the children. Besides guitar, I play also bass guitar, I sing and write lyrics. My music influence are Radiohead, Muse, Nirvana, The Vines, Royal Blood, QOTSA, Suede, Placebo, The Kills, Jack White and many other bands.
I'm Sasha Raven and I'm an independent indie musician. I love to compose my own songs.
Yard Of Blondes
Essentially, the songs are based in the tradition of folk and blues murder ballads from the 19th and early 20th centuries; then the music is let loose to traverse the spectrum, from the sweet harmonies of "Sailor" backed by cascading drumrolls and psychedelic twists to the Queens of the Stone Age desert-stoner rock of "Requiem for a Lover."

Carrie Cleveland
Soul Supreme
Carrie's Story -She recalls that she was influenced by various soul and disco heavyweights such as Dianne Warwick, Diana Ross and The Stylistics, however her music’s homegrown private-press nature truly stands it out from the rest. Indeed, the album’s left-of-centre offering, with Bill's performance on the keyboard and his unusual arrangements working with Carrie’s distinctive voice marks it out as a truly great disco-soul masterpiece.
Born in Shreveport, Louisiana, on 4th January 1941 and raised in Oakland, California from the age of seven, Carrie Cleveland’s upbringing was, as she notes, “typical for a household full of kids”. Raised as part of a close-knit family from the south and surrounded by nine brothers and sisters, her home was an environment of constant happenings and noise. Yet, as she recalled to me in January 2018, music was not in fact her main focus or ambition during her childhood or adolescent periods. Carrie's musical aspirations only truly developed later after meeting her future husband Bill Cleveland in 1961. As she notes, “I always enjoyed music, but I didn't really start until I met my husband Bill”. It is this tale of a musical partnership between a visionary husband and a talented wife with an extraordinary voice that it is our honour to divulge below.
Carrie Cleveland
Sadly Bill soon after suffered from health complications and unexpectedly passed away on 25th March 1994. Yet, as they still had many dates left on the calendar Carrie decided to continue performing as The Creative Set and with other local musicians. However, after two more years of Carrie leading the band herself she eventually decided to wind down her performances and put an end to her musical ambitions. As she notes, ‘I became tired, and a lot of men didn’t respect a female band leader’. Thus, the end of Carrie’s musical career had sadly arrived.
Carrie Cleveland
Released in 1980, the album has since gained a cult following by record collectors and soul aficionados alike. Yet, at the time of release, it failed to make the headway that it arguably deserved to receive. Its private distribution channels paired with its more-esoteric offering inhibited its success, and it was soon forgotten into obscurity. Although Carrie’s music did receive some airtime such as on local Vallejo-based radio station KDIA, Carrie recalls that “unfortunately we didn't get very far with it at the time. Only a few people heard and enjoyed it and we ended up putting it away”.
Carrie Cleveland
Instead, Carrie chose to focus more of her time on her occupation as a housekeeper at Oakland’s local children’s hospital, where she later became an x-ray assistant, and settled down in the city, where she still resides today.
It has been a pleasure to work with Carrie and Heston in celebrating such a great piece of musical history, and an honour to offer here the definitive discography of Carrie and Bill Cleveland.

All tracks written, arranged and produced by Bill Cleveland.

LOOKING UP: THE COMPLETE WORKS
The singles were Bill’s idea to help promote Carrie as an artist and were used as a promotional drive for the local area. The most well-known and sought-after of her singles is the promotional release of ‘Make Love To Me’, also recorded in 1978, which lacks the organ that appears on the later issue copy and which also differs from the LP version. Carrie cannot recall why the alteration was made, only that “it was what Bill wanted to do [as]… he handled all the musical arrangements”. However, she can remember that in total five hundred copies of the singles were pressed, as well as one thousand copies of the album. Carrie cannot remember if the single ‘Take A Moment’, backed with ‘I’ve Got A Feeling’, was ever actually released, but if it was, it seems to have been lost into total obscurity. Although the former song also appeared on ‘Getting Up’, here the single version is almost a minute longer. In addition, the latter track is a fantastic sweet soul single which was for an unknown reason never featured on the album.
Brian P Matheny
Singer Songwriter/Artist
Brian P. Matheny unleashes his full length album 'The Canary and The Cage'
Brian P Matheny
His body of work on this album is as abstract as his artwork. The album was constructed with realism and amazing musicianship. He reminds us of Bob Dylan, a true storyteller but then again he delivers his lyrics with the grit of Tom Petty and an authenticity that you can't quite pin down. He is truly unique. Notes of Blues and Rock nestle him into that indie/alternative landscape. Truly worth a listen...over and over again. Addictive. He left us wanting more.
Brian P Matheny
“The Canary & The Cage” = A sense of disappointment with the outcome of life. Despair at one's inability to construct a workable life in a period of collapsed definitions as to what makes for a meaningful existence. To quote F. Nietzsche, “To live is to suffer, to survive is to find some meaning in the suffering.” The state of being when one can no longer find meaning in their suffering is the overall theme of “The Canary & The Cage.”
Brian P Matheny
Objectively, the title refers to the act of placing something as beautiful as a canary into a cage, and then placing the cage into a potentially life threatening environment to see if it is safe for others to follow. Subjectively, the title elucidates the metaphoric nature of our existence, one of both uncertainty and anxiety in a threatening place.
United Duality
Ortwin Wendt is the driving force behind the passionate, fun, and genre-free project that is United Duality. Based in Celle, Germany, Wendt leads with skilful guitar work and strength of songwriting. In addition though, he fills out every single with layers of instrumentation and colour – often self-crafted, often through collaborations with other vocalists and musicians; always to beautifully engaging and uplifting results.
Despite a notably varied string of influences, United Duality makes music with clear links to and inspiration from the likes of The Beatles and other pop-rock creatives of the sixties and seventies. You can hear this approach across releases, even among such strong eclecticism – from the experimental rock soundscape of Purple Heron to the collaborative folk delicacy of See-Saw, there’s something enjoyably familiar about the United Duality sound; an admirable sense of identity runs throughout everything.
In recent years, several original releases have made the airwaves of numerous independent radio stations. The unmistakable and historically rooted ‘Sexy Sadie Passed Away’ even made it to number one towards the end of 2018, over on ‘B.I.G. Indie Giant, South Africa’.
Being naturally connected to this art form, and having already released an impressive level of new songs, Ortwin Wendt and his creative muse show no signs of slowing down. A full-length album is expected in the near future – 13 original songs under the title ‘Enlightening Snapshots’. The project will take listeners on a journey through varied genres and life experiences, entertaining them yet also closing the gap between artist and audience – letting you build that understanding and connection that we so often turn to music for.
The next single to emerge will be a Spanish piece entitled ‘Igual’ – another step in a creatively free direction, and another reason to let yourself get lost in the endlessly immersive realm of the United Duality catalogue.
