Biography
Tough On Fridays is a rising alternative rock duo from Georgetown, Texas. Comprised of best friends Katie and Caleigh, the two have turned their shared passion for music into an exciting blend of pop and rock sounds. Inspired by iconic alternative bands like Paramore, Green Day, Basement, and Nirvana, Katie and Caleigh created Tough On Fridays in 2017 after years of inspiring each other as independent singer/songwriters. Working together, Katie and Caleigh have created music that brings a refreshing new sound to the alternative rock genre, making Tough On Fridays one of the most promising new acts in the genre!
As Tough On Fridays continues to grow and develop their new sound, they have garnered serious recognition from the music industry. In 2018, they earned themselves live performances in the Texas Indie Fest show during Austin Music week, as well as a spotlight performance on the PBS show Texas Music Café. Tough On Fridays was also selected as the ION Indie Magazine’s September/October ReverbNation Artist of the Month, a recognition that acknowledges upcoming independent artists who have shown signs of a promising future. Perhaps the most exciting of their numerous awards, Katie was the first female to ever be nominated and selected as the Indie Bassist of the Year during the TC Indie Awards of 2019 in the UK. The award itself is a testament to the growing overseas fan base that a small two-person duo from Georgetown, Texas has already been able to achieve.
Fans of Tough On Fridays will be excited to know that the alternative rock duo has many new projects on the way. They recently finished recording ten tracks with producer Chris “Frenchie” Smith. The project is sure to be a milestone for the band, as it will solidify their hard work in creating a unique new sound. Still, Tough On Fridays has already shown that they are perhaps the most exciting new act to arise out of the alternative music genre in the last few years!
